The Yitzhak Rabin Foundation is pleased to share a year-end update from grant recipient, Our Generation Speaks.
OGS is pleased to announce a new collaborative initiative for the 2018 Fellowship. OGS will partner with MIT’s DesignX and MISTI programs to incubate up to two ventures in the fields of architecture, urban planning, and real estate. The partnership will also connect OGS Fellows with graduate student interns from MIT.
Six members of the expanded 2018 cohort will spend part of their summer on the MIT campus, where they will participate in a tailor-made coaching and academic program at DesignX, an entrepreneurship accelerator at MIT’s School of Architecture and Planning. These fellows will meet and collaborate with MIT graduate students who will engage in long-term internships, including work in the region, with the ventures to support their development. These students will be matched with the OGS Ventures by DesignX and MISTI, MIT’s Department of International Science and Technology Initiatives.
The OGS-MIT Track will leverage the talents of OGS Fellows and the resources of MIT to create lasting impact in the region’s built environment.
OGS Efforts in the Region
In 2018, OGS will launch a three-fold plan to further support our ventures and alumni in the region.
We are thrilled to share a new partnership with MassChallenge Jerusalem, through which several OGS Ventures will have the opportunity to participate in their prestigious accelerator program in Jerusalem. There, they will have access to the same fantastic entrepreneurial resources they received at MassChallenge in Boston, including access to one-on-one mentorship, workshops with accomplished local leaders, office space in the heart of the city, and more.
Introducing the OGS Accelerated Growth Committee
The OGS Accelerated Growth Committee is a new resource for alumni, led and operated by several members of the OGS Network with decades of combined experience in business development, finance, and management. The committee will gather with each OGS Venture team to analyze their business plans and quarterly reports, then offer advice to close gaps in strategy and execution and bridge barriers to success.
Calling All Mentors
Beginning in 2018, OGS will expand upon the mentoring services offered in Boston by implementing an in-region mentoring program. Each venture will be matched with a region-based coach, who will offer ongoing strategy, networking, and marketing advice. In addition, the OGS Alumni will have the opportunity to participate in a six-month, one-on-one mentoring program following their return home. They will be connected with a local individual who can provide guided professional and personal mentorship for their endeavors. If you are based in Israel or Palestine and are interested in getting involved with this new initiative, please reach out to the OGS Team!
